Safety IO module 42: Online diagnostic values frozen

Question:
The online values on the diagnostic tab in the EASY Starter / PLC Designer are not updated on my Safety IO Module 42. What could be the reason for this?

Answer:
The online values in EASY Starter and PLC Designer are only updated if the FSoE communication could be started when the Safety IO Module is switched on.
