Master frequency, encoder supply, current capacity X8, X9, X10

Question:
How much current can the encoder input (X8), the master frequency input (X9) and the master frequency output (X10) supply to external encoders?

Answer:
To the sub D female connectors of X8, X9 and X10 (Pin 4 each) a 5 V voltage source is available to supply the encoders or sine/cosine encoders. At the encoder input X8 the voltage can vary from 5 ... 8 V.

Pin 4 supplies following maximum currents each:
  • X8: 200 mA (is also valid for ECS*)
  • X9 + X10 in total: 200 mA
  • X9: 200 mA (if X10 is not loaded)
  • X10: 50 mA

Attention:
Consequently, the whole 200 mA are only available to the master frequency input X9:Pin 4, provided that X10:Pin 4 is not used.

*: As the ECS has only one interface, which can also be used as master frequency output, the indication of 200 mA is valid for both signal directions (X8=input / X8=output).
