Engineer HighLevel 2.5 and StateLevel 2.5
Function description
The Engineer permits to go online with a real 9400 device whose Firmware version is newer than the one expected by the project. This is permissible since the 9400 version 3 is downward compatible to older Firmware versions. Thus, available projects can be operated as before after the device has been replaced by a device which uses the new Firmware.
Available projects that were saved by a released Engineer version later than V1.2 can be opened and further edited with Engineer 2.5 without causing unwanted changes in the application. The dialog mentioned below pops up when an old Engineer project is opened using Engineer 2.5:
'Keep old version' means that the project is not assigned new catalogue elements. The user can compile the application anew and download it as well as parameterise the device online. The device will work as it did before. Nevertheless, the project will be adapted to the current 2.5 data structure right after opening it. Though this does not have any effect on the real drive, this means that the project cannot be opened using the older Engineer any more after 'Save'. If you wish to be able to open the original project using the older Engineer as before, save the project first with 'Save as' and assign it another name before you apply the changes.
