Corrected from:
Backup & Restore V3.14
Response of the new version:
Backups created with 'Backup & Restore' PC software V3.14 can be restored (RESTORE) in controllers with the same processor irrespective of the firmware version of the controller used to create the backup.
What happens?
Restoring a backup in a Lenze controller is cancelled with the following error message:
ERROR: illegal license! The system is unchanged! - Remove "Backup&Restore"- medium and restart!
When does this behaviour occur?
The above-described behaviour occurs when restoring a backup from a USB stick in a controller if the current 'Backup & Restore' PC software version V3.13 was used to prepare the USB stick for creating backups and the USB stick was used to create the backup of a controller with a firmware version lower than V3.10.
Which products are affected?
Backup & Restore V3.13
3200 C controller up to V3.10
p500 controller up to V3.10
Short-term measures:
Either use the WebConfig or the controller's control panel to create backups of controllers with firmware versions lower than V3.10. Backups created in this way can be easily restored. Among other things, you can also use 'Backup & Restore' software V3.13 for the restore. Detailed instructions for this can be found in the 'Backup & Restore - Data saving and restoring' software manual on the Lenze website.
Please contact Lenze, if the function restriction occurs and you have no possibility of creating a new controller backup via the WebConfig or the control panel.
Evaluation/recommendations:
The function restriction does not occur in the event of a backup of a controller with a firmware version higher than V3.10.
The function restriction neither occurs in the event of a backup created with a 'Backup & Restore' version lower than V3.13.
