In order to work with PLC Designer V3, the EASY Starter and the L-force Engineer, you need additional files that are not installed with the engineering tools. Depending on the engineering tool, you will require the:
- online help
- device descriptions
- device firmware
- …
The EASY Package Manager is installed together with the engineering tools. With this software you can download the above-described files (packages) via the internet from the Lenze update server to your PC.
In order to distribute packages to computers that have no access to the Lenze update server (e.g. if there is no internet connection), EASY Package Managers from version 1.16 are equipped with specific support functions. Proceed as follows:
- Use the EASY Package Manager and install the required packages from the Lenze update server on your PC.
- Select the packages you want to install on the PC that has no access to the Lenze update server.
- Export the selected packages to a zip file (<Export> <Export to zip file> button).
- Copy the zip file to the PC that has no access to the Lenze update server.
- Now you can proceed in two different ways:
- Installation via the user interface of the EASY Package Manager
- Start the EASY Package Manager on the PC that has no access to the Lenze update server.
- Select <Import> <Import from zip file>.
- Select the copied zip file and click <Open>.

- Installation via the command line commands (please see the online help for additional information on the command line commands):
- Enter the following command in the Windows command line of the PC that has no access to the Lenze update server:
"c:\Program Files (x86)\Lenze\EASYPackageManager\PackageManagerCmd.exe" -ImportPackagesFromZip <"...Directory\File name>.zip"
