Corrected from:
EASY Starter V1.22.1
Response of the new version:
The safe parameter set can be confirmed successfully with the EASY Starter. No exception occurs.
What happens?
The EASY Starter reports an unexpected error when confirming the safe parameter set:
Error: System.NullReferenceException
Message: The object reference was not set to an object instance.
Clicking the <Close> button closes the EASY Starter.
When does the behaviour occur?
The behaviour described above occurs in the following use case:
- A safe parameter set with a changed safety address is transferred to the device in the safety parameter list.
- After the transfer of the safe parameter set, the 'Confirmation' dialogue is automatically displayed in which the new safety address must be confirmed.
- If, after confirming the safety address, you switch to the 'Parameter set' tab of this dialogue and also want to confirm the safe parameter set there, the EASY Starter crashes when you press the 'Identify device' button.
Which products are affected?
EASY Starter V1.22 in conjunction with i950 Extended Safety.
Short-term measures:
When transferring a safe parameter set from the safety parameter list, confirmation of the safe parameter set is not necessary. This is performed automatically when the safe parameter set is transferred. If both confirmation steps are nevertheless necessary (safety address and parameter set), the dialogue should be closed in the meantime and reopened via the toolbar button 'Confirmation...'.
Evaluation / recommendations:
Due to this function restriction, the EASY Starter exits without saving the safe parameter set beforehand.
