i950 hardware requirement for using an IO extension
Question: Aat which i950 hardware version can an IO extension (I9MAGCV000000) be evaluated in feedback slot B and how can this be seen?
Answer:
It is required that the control card board has a hardware version from 1A (not VA and VB) and that the firmware is installed as of V01.09.01.
The firmware version can be seen in index 0x2000_4, dthe HW version of the control card in 0x2002_8 (available from i950 V01.11.xx).
If these requirements are not met, firmware monitoring responds: 0x2009FF2F 'Feedback: 'Unknown module at slot B'.
Other alternative options for detecting the HW version of the control card:
The month of manufacture is printed on the side nameplate sticker of the i950. If it says 18 32, for example, then the device was manufactured in calendar week 32 in 20218. From this date of manufacture, control card versions from 1A have already been installed.
The date of manufacture can also be read out in index 0x2000_3.
If in doubt, you can also ask support whether the hardware version of the control card is up-to-date enough by providing the serial number of the i950. This is stored in SAP. The serial number can be found on the affixed type plates and in index 0x2000_2.
