Two different ladder diagram editors are available for creating POUs (building blocks):
- Ladder Logic Diagram
This is the ladder diagram editor already available in PLC Designer V3. - Ladder Diagram (new)
A revised ladder diagram editor with simplified editing options. Variants of elements for which separate elements previously had to be inserted from the toolbox are now created purely by the selected insertion position or by subsequently switching a modifier (e.g. edge detection, set/reset,...).
Programming blocks that were created in the Ladder Logic Diagram editor can be converted to the format of the new editor using a menu command.
The behavior of the new editor 'Ladder Diagram' can be configured in the 'Options' dialog (menu 'Tools' > 'Options') in the new category 'Ladder editor':
