What does Roberto’s and Maurizio’s company do?

N.E. Engineering is a leading manufacturer of intralogistics systems for stackers, palletizers and other machinery for the corrugated board industry. N.E. Engineering’s team has over 30 years of experience in the design of flow layouts, from existing plants going to major new greenfield projects. The company has made a name for itself as a provider of solutions that are flexibly tailored to customer needs.

What is essential for the competition?

Intralogistics solutions such as those from N.E. Engineering transport impressive quantities of material during operation. In addition, the construction and installation of the systems, some of which consist of over 400 conveyor belts, present logistical challenges. The aim here is to plan as efficiently as possible with the right concepts and components in order to save time, energy and material.

Automation and decentralization are the two trend-setting aspects for competitiveness in intralogistics - an industry that is increasingly moving towards system integration.

What does the Lenze solution look like?

The intralogistics system primarily involved the development of internal conveyor systems for corrugated boards, one of N.E. Engineering's core competencies. Right from the start of the project, the company relied on Lenze's products and expertise to increase the system's efficiency.

By implementing a decentralized drive with a network connection, together we were able to achieve optimizations in many different areas. These ranged from a reduction in installation costs and savings on cabling to a significant simplification of troubleshooting and component replacement by maintenance personnel.

Our decentralized frequency inverters and drives played a key role in this. Thanks to the local installation of the innovative drive solutions, the space required for control cabinets was also reduced.

Decentralization

By decentralizing the conveyor technology, it was possible to significantly reduce the amount of cabling.

Installation

With the modular drive design, N.E. Engineering was able to reduce the time required for construction, assembly and commissioning of the system at the end user’s site.

Troubleshooting

Simple diagnostics via LED shows the operating status of the drives, even in difficult locations.

What characterizes our partnership?
