S7 AppSample V5.1 - program example for i950, i550, 9400 and 8400 (TIA Portal V15.1 und V16)

Description:
This AKB contribution provides commissioning instructions for using the Lenze i950, i550, 9400 and 8400 device series with Profibus or Profinet communication along with a guide to integration into the Siemens PLC STEP 7 and TIA Portal V15.1 or V16 environment.
  • With this sample, Lenze for the first time provides Lenze S7 function blocks for cross-product Lenze technology applications (i950, i550, 9400 and 8400).
  • The function blocks can be used together with the following Lenze products: i950, i550, 9400 HighLine, 8400 StateLine-HighLine-TopLine, 8400 motec-8400 protec.
  • The blocks can be used together with Profibus DP and Profinet I/O.
  • A function block for TA Actuator Speed is provided.
  • A function block for TA Table Positioning is provided.
  • The corresponding basic Lenze device (i950, i550, 9400, 8400 SL HL TL, 84motec or 84protec) can be selected via an FB input.
  • To each of the two FBs belongs a corresponding Engineer project. In the Engineer projects, the process data assignment corresponds to the FBs and must not be changed. The FBs are protected by Lenze.

For commissioning a Lenze controller with the stardard applications Actuator Speed or Table Positioning, you now only have to insert a ready-made block from the Lenze S7 library into the S7 program.

Commissioning steps:

  1. Load the corresponding Engineer project into the drive (only necessary for 8400 and 9400) => set the Profibus / Profinet address
  2. Select the corresponding S7 block from the Lenze library, copy it to the S7 project and create an instance data block (DB).
  3. Select controller type (i950, i550, 9400, 8400, etc.) and start address at the function block => READY
  4. Using a STEP 7 variable table, the drive can be tested or traversed immediately.
  5. Very fast first commissioning.
  6. More than one drive on the bus? Copy one function block per drive to the S7 project and create a data block (DB).

Additional highlights:

  • Easy support by Application Engineer / Service because the blocks are tested and used throughout Lenze.
  • Blocks correspond to the blocks of the Lenze AppSamples for CoDeSys V2 / V3
  • Test control of the drives via a variable table independently of the S7 program.
  • The drive runs in test mode, then the customer can look after his application.
  • For customers who wish to programme FBs on their own, additional open Lenze FBs are provided for process data communication.
  • Different function blocks for reading and writing of single- or multi-parameters are available for parameter communication.
  • The Lenze function blocks are available in three STEP 7 and three TIA Portal (S7-1200, S7-1500 und S7-300/400) libraries. One STEP 7 and three TIA Portal (S7-1200, S7-1500 und S7-300/400) sample project is available.
  • A general STEP 7 and TIA Portal documentation for connecting the basic Lenze devices to the Siemens PLC world and a detailed documentation for all Lenze function blocks are available for the S7 AppSample.

System requirements:
Simatic Manager software V5.5 SP4 and TIA Portal software V15.1 or V16 must be available.

Software installation S7 AppSample:
Use the 'Retrieval function' (File => Retrieve) to integrate the program example into the Simatic Manager. Then copy the blocks into your own PLC project. The S7 blocks are also available as S7 libary. The required Engineer projects are provided in a zip file. For more details, please read to the attached documentation.
