Question: What can be the reason if the GDC is automatically closed when opening new surfaces or windows?
Answer: GDC works in the background with a configuration file where also certain Windows settings for window sizes, screen resolutions and directory paths are stored. It may happen that changes to these Windows settings cause the GDC to close automatically when opening dialogs, windows, etc. Here it can help to replace the existing GDC32.ini file with a new one. The FAQ contains the GDC32.ini file which was created on the computer directly after installing GDC.
