Changes in the Lenze Management Board

Dr. Marc Wucherer becomes new Chairman of the Executive Board on January 1st, 2025

Hamelin, 10/16/2024. Motion at Lenze. The Supervisory Board of Lenze SE has appointed Dr. Marc Wucherer (54) as the new CEO with effect from January 1st, 2025. He succeeds Christian Wendler (62), who is retiring at the end of the year after more than ten years at the helm of the company.

Christian Wendler has been a member of the Lenze Executive Board since 2013 and took over as CEO in 2014. During his time as CEO, he has successfully shaped the fortunes of the company and set a decisive course for the future: Under his leadership, the Lenze Group became increasingly internationalized, the customer perspective was firmly anchored in the company and the Lenze's positioning as a leading automation specialist was decisively advanced.

"On behalf of the shareholders and the Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Mr. Wendler for his dedicated commitment to Lenze," says Dr. Johannes Haupt, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Lenze. "Mr. Wendler has strongly shaped the family-owned company in recent years and set up the trend-setting transformation process. In order to ensure a smooth succession process, we entered into joint planning early and prudently. The sustainable orientation of the Lenze family business is very important to our shareholders. We are therefore particularly pleased that we have succeeded in finding the ideal successor in Dr. Marc Wucherer to lead Lenze into the next decade of automation." Dr. Marc Wucherer comes from the industry and has extensive international management experience, particularly in the USA and China. He will continue to drive forward the internationalization of the Group and strategically align Lenze to the current situation and the challenges ahead.

Dr. Marc Wucherer, a proven expert in automation in mechanical engineering, is taking over the management role at Lenze. From 2022, he was CEO of the medium-sized fan and drive manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg. In 2017, he joined the Executive Board at drive and control system provider Bosch Rexroth with responsibility for global sales and later also for the factory automation business. Wucherer began his professional career at Siemens in 1996. He held various specialist and management positions there, including in sales in Germany and China. Dr. Marc Wucherer studied general electrical engineering at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, part-time business administration at the University of Hagen and completed his doctorate at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Chemnitz University of Technology.
