SAIET Engineering equips distribution centers worldwide for the courier, express, and parcel industry (CEP) with innovative logistics solutions. Customers of the Italian engineering company, such as GLS, FedEx, DHL, SDA, and BRT, must ensure the system availability and keep delivery times to the end customer as short as possible.
What is essential for the competition?
There is much pressure on OEMs like SAIET. Because while the volume of shipments continues to grow, the workforce in the labor market is shrinking. The systems must become faster and guarantee high performance, while at the same time being energy-efficient and reducing human intervention to a minimum.
Automated solutions are needed. The trend is towards lights-out systems and decentralized micro-warehouses - for which SAIET's main competitors have extremely short delivery times of two to three months until final installation. Competitiveness is required here.
We supported SAIET from the start of planning the parcel distribution system (GLS/BRT) with our know-how as automation experts and the latest technology to optimize the material flow and availability of the system and increase throughput. The aim was to create a system that is dynamic, energy-efficient, and easy to install and commission.
With 6,000 parcels per hour, these requirements are also met on peak sales days such as Cyber Monday and Black Friday.
