The E80 Group is an international company with more than 1,500 employees. As a global leader in the development of automated intralogistics solutions, it has completed more than 450 integrated factories in various parts of the world, and has implemented over 9,000 automatic laser-guided vehicles, 2,800 robotic systems, and numerous automated high-density warehouses. Every day, E80 Group’s solutions help move more than 1 billion Euro worth of products worldwide.
What is essential for the competition?
The integrated systems by the E80 Group are used to handle all intralogistics activities by consumer goods manufacturers and distributors in sectors such as beverage, food, and tissue, amongst others.
Stacker cranes in high-density automated warehouses move large masses. Precision of system controlling is a decisive factor and poses a competitive advantage. In addition to safety, this can also increase energy efficiency and throughput. With the right technology, growth from 5% to 8% in “pics per minute” is possible.
More than 40 high-density automated warehouses with a total of 176 stacker cranes from E80 operate holistically with Lenze components and technology: From gearboxes, frequency inverters, and controllers to software.
Our Lenze FAST Application Software is used here. The software engineering modules form a ready-to-use and flexibly expandable basic framework that enables faster commissioning and individual scalability. Key software features are already integrated in Lenze FAST, for example for energy recovery, positioning of the axes and oscillation compensation.
Meaning, the Lenze FAST Application Software covers around 80% of all relevant functions. The remaining 20% are customized and developed in cooperation with our partners at E80.
What characterizes our partnership?
“We chose Lenze as our partner because we need high quality, availability, and above all, flexibility to develop tailor-made systems for our clients’ success,“ says Enrico Grassi.
As a full-service provider for automation solutions, we supply our customers with modern technology, and in-depth expertise. We work closely with the E80 group from planning to after-sales service, which ranges from commissioning and breakdown care to the short-term supply of spare parts. Only through constant mutual exchange and good cooperation with our customers can we continue to develop solutions and reach the application’s maximum technological potential.
Enrico Grassi also tells us why this is important for the E80 Group: “Our hallmark is not just to create a functional system, but to maintain it for the next thirty years.“
