Change the x500’s WAN configuration
The x500’s WAN configuration determines how the x500 connects to X4 Remote. Depending on your x500 model, you can configure it to connect via a wired, wireless, or cellular network.
You can also configure multiple connections (max. one of each type) which will then be used as fallback connections when the preferred connection is unavailable. More information can be found here: Configure fallback connections (failover).

- Select the desired connection type:
- Follow the steps in chapter “Create a configuration file“.
- Follow the steps in chapter “Register your x500“. These steps will not register your x500, as it is already registered, but it wíll apply the configuration file settings to the x500.
You have now made the changes in your x500, but these are not yet visible in X4 Remote. Once the x500 is back online, you can import your changes to X4 Remote.

- Open the main menu , go to Devices, and select the concerning device.
- Expand the configuration sync options in the top right corner and click [Import config from device].

If it’s password protected you’ll also need enter the network’s password. If you are unsure about the details, or the requirements mentioned below, please consult the local IT administrator. The x500 can’t connect to a Wi-Fi network if it requires you to log in to a webpage or accept their terms of use first. |
Cellular | Enter the provider’s APN (Access Point Name) and the SIM card’s PIN code. Leave the PIN field empty only if there is no PIN set on the SIM card.
